Jason Chan is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Information, Operations, Management Sciences (IOMS) at Stern School of Business, New York University. He received his bachelor degree with honors in information systems from National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2008. Prior to joining Stern's doctoral program, he was a research assistant with the Department of Information Systems, NUS.

His research focuses on the economics of IT, with a particular interest in examining the social and health implications of online technology. He also researches on topics related to social media, e-commerce, and online advertising. His works have appeared in IEEE Transaction of Engineering Management, Journal of the Association for Information Systems, and several major conferences including the International Industrial Organization Conference, Annual Industry Studies Conference, and National Bureau of Economic Research. His work has won the Best Paper Award at the 2011 Workshop on Health IT and Economics (WHITE) and has been mentioned in popular press.

Jason is currently apprenticing under Professor Anindya Ghose and Asim Ansari. Formerly, he was advised by Professor Bernard Tan and Professor Jack Jiang in NUS.
