Mark R. Patterson. Mr. Patterson is Chairman and co-founder of MatlinPatterson Global Advisers LLC which manages over $3.85 billion of distressed investments. Mr. Patterson has 30 years of financial markets experience at Credit Suisse First Boston (where he was a Vice Chairman), Scully Brothers & Foss L.P., Salomon Brothers Inc., and Bankers Trust Company.

Mr. Patterson holds degrees in law (BA, 1972) and economics (BA Honors - Econ, 1974) from South Africa’s Stellenbosch University and an MBA (with distinction, 1986) from New York University’s Stern School of Business. Mr. Patterson serves on the Board of Directors of Allied World Assurance in Bermuda, Polymer Group, Inc., and on the Dean’s Executive Board of the NYU Stern School of Business. Mr. Patterson is fluent in Afrikaans.
