Japamazing! Home | Towa Tei | Fantastic Plastic Machine | DJ Taku | Coltemonikha | Mondo Grosso | Others ![]() Hello and welcome to my website! The idea for Japanamazing! was finding a place to keep and update information, music, and videos for five of my favorite Japanese producer/DJs. For those of they new to the world of Jpop, the pop music formula is fairly similar to that of the United States--find talent, produce music, manage the image, and rake in the dough. Except for one small detail: Japanese producer/DJs ARE the talent! The musical culture of Japan doesn't try to hide the skillful artistry and sheer technical wizardry of their best electronic musicians--and these five represent the absolute best in the industry. Most have worked or began as a DJ, and most have developed past that nomenclature--but whatever you call them, they are quintessentially part of a musical movement that is authentically popJapan, and is therefore new--that's why I enjoy it so much! I have been following the work of these five producer/DJs, and more, for many years now. I remember discovering Towa Tei at the release of his first solo album, in 2002, which got me hooked. The idea of this website is to introduce you to these musicians in hopes that you discover something as new and intriguing as I did (and continue doing) in the Japanese music style and industry.
