Theresa Lant is an Associate Professor of Management at the Stern School of Business, New York University. She received her Ph.D. from Stanford University in 1987, and her A.B. from the University of Michigan in 1981. She served as a Senior Editor of Organization Science (an international journal of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences) from 1996 through 2001. She served as an officer for Managerial and Organizational Cognition Division of the Academy of Management from 1997 through 2001. Her latest positions was division chair.
Professor Lant’s research focuses on the processes of managerial decision making, organizational learning and strategic adaptation. She recently published a book with Professor Zur Shapira that investigates the role of cognition in organizations. The book is titled "Organizational Cognition : Computation and Interpretation" and is published by Lawrence Erlbaum Associates. Currently, she is studying the emergence of the new media sectors in New York City. Her publications have appeared in the Strategic Management Journal, Advances in Strategic Management, Organization Science, Management Science, and the Journal of Management.
