I mainly teach two classes at Stern: Data Mining and Business Intelligence: focuses on how to formulate business problems in ways that reveal patterns in data that can be used for managerial decision making. The class describes the main machine learning methods, and illustrates via cases and real datasets, when and how to apply them to various management decision making situations. Financial Information Systems: focuses on the use of information systems in the financial industry that support wholesale and retail payments, pre-trade analysis, risk management, and exchanges and marketplaces. I also teach Information Technology and Strategy for executive MBAs in the TRIUM program. This course covers IT-enabled business models, the networked economy, and systems for supporting managerial decision making. View the links to the left for a sample of the courses that I have taught in the past, some for the future, and some information about them. |
