It
all started at lunch on Long Island... It was Winter Break, and Mr. Michael Xu had invited over Mr. Brandon Adoni to enjoy some Chinese Food at the Xu residence in Jericho, Long Island, New York. It was a typical lunch with typical conversation. Brandon had met Mike at the Stern Business and Law Association. Brandon asked Mike what other clubs he belonged to. The surprise response was: "none!" Brandon's mind wandered as it usually does. "Mike, why aren't you in the Stern Business and Politics Group?" "There is no Political Group at Stern!" Mike retorted. "Well why don't we start one?" Quipped Brandon. |
From Question to Answer Mike and Brandon couldn't do this themselves. They invited over Mr. Hari Sundar, whom Mike was close friends with and whom Brandon knew from SBLA as well. With Hari's help, the idea developed from the Stern Business and Politics Group to the Stern Business Leadership Council (SBLC). They pitched the idea to Mr. Rick Hoffman, the then-Vice President of the Stern InterClub Council (the group that maintains Stern groups). It was general sentiment that the rest of the clubs would not agree to that broad of a name... SBLC was finished before it even started... (continued) |
