NatWest Bank:
Products and Customers

a case study by Ian H. Giddy

(For Giddy's Global Banking course)

NatWest Group provides financial services in the United Kingdom and 34 other countries. It is the
holding company for National Westminster Bank and Ulster Bank, which operate 1,824 banking offices
throughout the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland. In addition, NatWest Group's Coutts subsidiary provides private-banking services throughout the world. The company also owns  NatWest Markets, which provides corporate- and investment-banking services in Europe; Gartmore, which manages pensions; and Greenwich Capital Markets, a primary dealer of U.S. government securities.

Using the bank's annual report or other sources, list the range of products and services, and the range of customers, that the bank covers. Show these as a matrix like the one below. Can you learn anything about the bank's returns in each of the service-customer cells?
