Biography
Irv Schenkler has been a full-time faculty member at
the Stern School since 1982. He teaches at both the graduate and undergraduate level and is also a member of the
Executive MBA faculty. His course "Media and Management" has been nationally recognized as a ground-breaking
subject in the MBA curriculum.
As a consultant in management communication, his clients have included Crédit Lyonnais, Nestlé, Conoco-DuPont,
Gulf Oil, W.R. Grace, Banker's Trust Premark International, and the New York Stock Exchange.
Professor Schenkler has been a visiting professor at the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and has also
taught in the Columbia Business School and the University of Washington in Seattle.
He received the Stern School Award for Teaching Excellence in 1990. A graduate of Columbia College, he also received
his MA and MPhil from Columbia. At Columbia, he was an NEH Fellow.
