Priscilla A. La Barbera is associate professor of marketing at New York
University's Stern School of Business where she teaches courses in marketing and advertising management.
During the early 1980s she pioneered the application of time compression to radio and television commercials, which
has since become the industry standard in the production of broadcast commercials. Professor La Barbera is
also a consultant and lecturer in the US and abroad. Among her specialties is the application of Jungian
theory to advertising and internet marketing to enhance communications effectiveness. She is the co-author
of Marketing 2000 and Beyond
and her work has appeared in numerous publications including the Journal
of Marketing, Journal
of Marketing Research, Management
Science, and Journal
of Advertising Research. Professor La Barbera received
the New York University Excellence in Teaching Award in 1984 and the New York University Distinguished Teaching
Medal in 1997. She was designated as a Stern Teaching Excellence Fellow in 1998.
