Academia is my second career. Somewhat accidentally, I was introduced to the possibility of this wonderful career in in which I could combine my experience in business, my interest in psychology, and my passion for research, writing, and teaching. This revelation challenged me to reconsider my business career goals and to embark upon a doctorate.

Thus, epiphany in hand, I left the corporate world in order to begin my training as an academic in 2001. Happily, it was the best career decision I ever made. I received a PhD in Organizational Behavior (Social Psychology track) at Harvard University in June 2006. There, I was privileged to be advised by Professors Max Bazerman and Mahzarin Banaji, and to receive committee guidance from Professor Sendhil Mullainathan.

Pre-ephiphany (1990-2001), I had a succesful career and gained a rich set of experiences in the business world. During that time, I worked in a variety of fast-track positions in investment banking (Morgan Stanley), marketing (Sports Illustrated, Scholastic Inc.), and human capital consulting/training (Sibson & Company, Merrill Lynch). I graduated from Cornell University in 1990 with a double major in Psychology and Economics, and from the Harvard Business School in 1994 with an MBA.

Today, I am delighted to be an Assistant Professor in the Department of Management and Organizations at NYU's Stern School of Business where I continue my research and teach negotiations.
