Brenda Smith, Managing Partner
Brenda Smith, Managing Partner, Prophet - In her role as Managing Partner
of the New York office, Brenda has brought dynamic leadership skills to
Prophet, the premier brand strategy professional services firm. She has
successfully led numerous brand strategy and brand architecture engagements
for companies in the financial services, telecommunications, consumer
packaged goods, on and off-line media, branded manufacturing and not-for-profit
sectors.
Prior to joining Prophet, she was responsible for the IBM Consulting Group's
Capital Markets e-business strategy consulting practice, where her teams
developed e-business strategies for such firms as Fidelity Investments,
First Union and The New York Stock Exchange, among others. Prior to joining
IBM, Brenda was a Director at BPB Associates, a start-up focused on hedge
funds, where she developed a management consulting practice, and led teams
that created business plans for new and existing hedge funds. Prior to
that, Brenda was a Manager in Ernst & Young's Financial Services consulting
practice, where she led business process transformation projects. For
four years before E&Y, she was a Project Manager at Goldman, Sachs.
An accomplished speaker, Brenda is frequently called upon to discuss such
issues including branding in financial services, brand identity and brand
architecture. She was a featured speaker at the Association of National
Advertisers, and is scheduled to chair Marcus Evans' Financial Branding
and Marketing conference. She has published in many business periodicals
and journals and is often quoted in the business press.
Brenda holds her Bachelor's degree from Tufts University, and her MBA
from NYU, where she is a guest lecturer in the management consulting department.
